A local financial consultant has advised Dominicans who may be facing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic to speak directly with their lenders to ease their financial burdens.

Luana Laurent of Finance Focus says the COVID-19 pandemic may be causing anxiety among citizens, and some may have already lost their jobs.

She says it is important to communicate clearly with landlords or lenders to determine the best way forward.

Laurent is also advising those who have not lost their jobs to use the opportunity to begin a savings plan.
